Chr. Hansen expert receives prestigious certified Cheese Professional ™ credential by the American Cheese Society (ACS).

They raise the bar not only for cheese professionals, but also for everyday consumers who benefit from the quality of service and expert guidance they provide.”

The words come from Nora Weiser, Executive Director of the American Cheese Society, upon the 2013 class passing the Annual Certified Cheese Professional™ Exam.

An elite group of 132 cheese professionals from across the United States and Canada now have the right to use the title ACS Certified Cheese Professional™, among those Chr. Hansen’s Mike Neu, Senior Vice President, Cultures & Enzymes.

Strengthens scientific image
Over the past many months he studied hard for the certification exam, which encompasses a broad range of topics including raw ingredients, the cheesemaking process, storing and handling cheese, selecting distributors, marketing and communicating about cheese, nutrition, and regulations and sanitation.

An on-going process
The Certified Cheese Professionals™ will be required to demonstrate continued active participation within the cheese industry and continued professional development to maintain this credential, and will be required to recertify every three years.
